2019 Year in Review

January 6, 2020

Exactly one year ago today, on January 8th, 2019, GBatteries launched out of stealth-mode at CES in Las Vegas. Since that time, so much has happened. Before we fully get into the swing of 2020, we wanted to take a moment to look back at some of the awards and recognition that we received over the past 12 months.

Here are the top five highlights:

  • Tim Sherstyuk, Co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer, was honoured as a Forbes 30 Under 30.
  • GBatteries was accepted into MobilityxLab’s innovation program that will begin in the spring of 2020.
  • We were named a finalist at the 11th annual Global Automotive & Mobility Innovation Challenge.
  • GBatteries was selected as a top ten finalist as part of the Automotive Startup Competition at AutoMobility LA.
  • We were named one of the "Top 10 Most Promising Startups" at the Rice University Energy and Clean Technology Venture Forum.

Additionally, we celebrated our 5th anniversary with a team building retreat, received our 10th awarded patent, launched a new website, and developed a video series demonstrating the capacities of our technology.

We ended 2019 closer to finalizing several key partnerships towards the commercialization of our technology. We hope to share more exciting news with you soon. Happy 2020!
